I Think Like Midnight – This Land Is Your Mind

The 2nd glorious album by Philadelphia instrumental band I Think Like Midnight, "This Land Is Your Mind" builds upon the sounds first laid down on ITLM's debut "Warm Seclusion Structure" with a robust, expansive sound thanks to the production work of Brian McTear (The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Waxahatchee, Sharon Van Etten) and Brendan Monahan. Packed with all the hook-filled, intricate, melodic ear worm goodness that ITLM fans have come to rely on for road trips of the mind. Featuring guitarist Andrew Chalfen (The Trolleyvox, The Wishniaks), drummer Dean Sabatino (The Dead Milkmen, Baby Flamehead), keyboardist Joe Genaro (The Dead Milkmen, Low Budgets), and bassist Josh Newman (American Altitude, Silver Ages).

“They occupy a rare corner of the instrumental world; one where melodic, guitar-based instrumentals, are written with the precision of a rock/pop singer-songwriter, and played (but not overplayed) by skilled musicians…it’s an amazing feat…The beauty of Warm Seclusion Structure is in its details and its subtlety.” - 50thirdand3rd

The videos released for the record are perfect examples of the band’s range and dynamics. “Ground Effect Aircraft,” with its driving percussion and chugging guitar chords is motivational at the least, inspiring at the most. Meanwhile, “Echo Celeste,” paired with footage of “the pastoral wow that was this past Autumn,” is drifting and sentimental, the occasional string-bending and xylophone melody throwing off the sense that your feet are firmly on the ground. – WXPN's The Key
